ABOUT SVETLANA

Svetlana Lokhova is a Cambridge University-trained historian with a special focus on Soviet espionage and intelligence operations. Her research into clandestine pre Cold War-era activities earned her a reputation as a leading authority on espionage history. She is best known for her earlier work, The Spy Who Changed History, which uncovers groundbreaking material on Soviet spy networks before WW2 and their impact on the twentieth century.

She was thrust into the public eye during the 2016 U.S. election controversy, Lokhova became an eyewitness to events now widely referred to as “Spygate.” Falsely accused of being a Russian intelligence agent, she emerged as a whistleblower exposing the misuse of intelligence for political ends—a subject she chronicles in Spygate Exposed. She co-operated with the US Department of Justice Special Counsel investigation for years. Drawing on newly released documents and her firsthand experiences, she reveals how government operatives, political figures, and media outlets intersected to create the now-discredited “Russia hoax” and attempted coup against President Donald J Trump.
